President’s Message
Welcome! Whether you have been in Queenswood Heights for a while or you’re just moving in, you have come to the right place.
I am honoured to serve as the President of your Queenswood Heights Community Association (QHCA).
My family has lived in this vibrant area since 1993, embracing life in Queenswood Heights. I am proud to have this opportunity to give back to the community that has allowed my children, and now my grandchildren, to feel connected, to feel safe and to flourish. The QHCA has helped to build those connections through special and ongoing activities. Some highlights include the Spring Fling family fun day in May, the Queenswood Heights Garage Sale in June, the Music Festival in August — with the QHCA looking into more ways to engage the community.
A community association, like a community, is more than the sum of its parts. At the QHCA, anyone can contribute and help develop events and activities that serve the diverse Queenswood Heights community. The QHCA works closely with the area’s municipal councillors, Matt Luloff and Laura Dudas. All of our activities are funded solely by community sponsors. But our volunteers are the ones who make things happen. That means our success depends on our connection to you. I can lead only with the support and input of our Queenswood Heights neighbours.
To help forge those connections, the QHCA has resumed monthly meetings. You can see the association in action the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. In fact, we have gone hybrid: you can attend in person at the Queenswood Heights Community Centre, at 1485 Duford Drive, or through our Facebook livestream. You can also check out the QHCA website and join our Facebook page to see at anytime what we are up to!
We have accomplished much and can accomplish so much more! Come be part of the future of Queenswood Heights and create an environment for our community that we can all be proud of.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Denis Vaillancourt
